Well-known singer Aurela Gaçe has reacted with a message on social media, raising concern about the future of young people in Albania at a time when protests against the government have been continuing for days.
Through a series of direct questions, the artist highlights young people’s loss of hope of building a future in the country, as well as the continuing departure of Albanians through emigration.
“Is it so hard to understand that young people have lost hope of building a future here?
Why are they leaving? Why do they want to leave?
Who will give us the answer? Who is responsible?”, writes Aurela Gaçe.
Meanwhile, the singer also shared lines from Doktor Flori’s song “Zemërthyer” (“Heartbroken”).
The lines she shared speak of feeling unrepresented, betrayed and undervalued by “dirty politics”, and end with the hope that this country can still be saved.
